Julie Lautens brings more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience to her work coaching teams and leaders. Her experience spans supply chains, manufacturing sites, government and non-profit organizations, R&D labs, boardrooms and classrooms. She has worked successfully with local and international teams, emerging talent and senior leaders. Coaching has been a core part of her work since 2005, first as an internal coach and mentor and, more recently, as an entrepreneur.

Trusted by others for her insight, judgment and experience, Julie supports her clients to clarify their goals and claim their unique path. She works creatively with clients when they feel stuck and challenges them when they are bolder. She will share tools, offer a perspective or give just-in-time support to make a difference. Julie is comfortable working on a leadership agenda or taking a broader approach, recognizing that resolving dilemmas outside the workplace often helps clients bloom professionally.

Julie also coached established directors and managers to improve their insight and impact, as well as people advancing into new leadership roles.

Julie’s own career path began as an Instructor in Chemistry at the University of Toronto, followed by a move to Glaxo Inc., where she excelled as Research Scientist, R&D, and Compliance Manager, manufacturing. As a member of the GSK Mississauga, Canada, manufacturing executive team, she held roles leading Production, Site Services, Engineering and Product Performance Improvement. She has worked extensively with regulatory bodies (US FDA, Health Canada) and with the Ontario government on behalf of GSK.

Julie holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Harvard University, a B.A. in chemistry from Carleton College, and has trained on the Toyota Production System in Osaka, Japan.
