Julie Lautens is a coach and consultant in leadership and team development. Her approach is grounded in sound coaching principles and over 20 years as a leader in large organizations. Julie is known for providing space for people to think and explore. Her open-mindedness, warmth, fairness, and sensitivity to issues of equity and inclusion create a safe foundation. Her coaching clients include CEO’s, directors and their teams, and high potential emerging leaders.
As a consultant, Julie works to improve team effectiveness, provide training, conduct needs analyses, individual or team assessments. She is recognized for her intuition, systems thinking and communication skills, as well as her ability to tease out key themes in complex situations.
Prior to founding her coaching practice, Julie led teams to develop, make and deliver medicines at GlaxoSmithKline. Her passion for leading teams to solve complex problems took her from R&D, to manufacturing, where she served on the Canadian site executive team and later on global leadership teams. Julie rose to Head, Technical Services, and then VP Quality, in which she was responsible for cross-functional teams strategic project teams spanning four continents (2009 – 2015).
Julie holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Harvard University. An ICF certified coach (ACC, Adler) and team coach (Corentus), she has served as a faculty member for Corentus Inc. Julie holds certifications for the Hogan, TMS Team Management Profile, and Tilt365 assessments. She gives back to her community as a volunteer coach with the DiverseCity program in the GTHA.
